Firearm Safety Course - 25th March 2017
Bob Hawkins will conduct a Firearm Safety Course for Category A and B weapons on Saturday 25 March 2017 starting at 9am. Category H can be organised at a later date.
The course will be held in the Townsville Marksmen Rifle Club clubhouse, Hervey’s Range Shooting Complex and will take about 4 to 5 hours depending on the number of participants.
The cost of the course is $130 per person ($95 extra for Cat H). There is no EFTPOS facility at the range so please pay Bob by cash or cheque on the day. You will need to bring some form of photo ID with you as well as a notebook and pen. Wear sensible clothing, hat or cap and closed-in shoes such as sports joggers (no singlets or thongs) and your water bottle.
If you have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) please bring it with you. If you do not have a USI then you will be able to give the Queensland Rifle Association (QRA) permission to create one for you when you fill in your registration forms on the day.
The Hervey’s Range Shooting Complex is located on Hervey’s Range Road (at the foot at the range) approximately 22km from the Kalynda Chase/Hervey’s Range Road intersection and is on the left-hand side. The Hervey’s Range Shooting Complex is 1klm past the entrance of the SSAA complex so please ensure you go to the correct entrance. There will be a red flag flying at the gate which is a little bit off the road but you will be able to see the long range shooting complex from the road.
The first part of the course deals with the Weapons Licencing Act and it is important you don’t miss it so please give yourself time to get out there before Bob starts at 9am sharp.
