Shade Rolls Into The Club

Last Sunday shooters experienced hot and fickle conditions which were moderated only by shooters being able to compete from under the portable shade structures. The day was significant in that at the conclusion of shooting the ashes of the late David Wilson (Club Captain 1969-91) were spread in front of the 600m firing point in accordance with his wishes – David’s daughter Kerin spread the ashes while David’s son Trevor fired the traditional ‘last shot’. The electronic target was again popular with shooters from Halifax having a go at them in preparation for next week’s Olive Trost Shield...

Jock Hucker Takes Careful Aim

Sunday 18th October presented a great challenge to all shooters at the Townsville Marksmen Rifle Club with light wind and mirage which did not maintain consistency from one shot to the next. Several competitor were heard to say ‘should have gone fishing!’. For logistical reasons it was decided to shoot 800m for a second week-end in a row. Results in F Class Standard were: John Lorimer 107, Julianne Mertz 107, Gail Christie 106, Bill...

As a result, both the TMRC and SSAA Committees have decided to close the range until further notice. The range safety course on Sunday 21 Feb will still continue. We would ask that you park at the front gate and walk to the TMRC Clubhouse.
