Survey work to define the boundaries of the leased Danger Zone Area will commence on Wednesday 11th of February. This work could take several weeks and will be carried out during weekdays (Monday to Friday inclusive). Consequently the Range will be closed to all shooting during the week but will be available for programmed competitions on weekends. Survey work will start Wednesday (11th of February) and continue through to Friday (13th of February) and resume again Monday (16th of February) through to Friday (20th February). The Townsville Marksmen Rifle Club will be holding a New Shooter/Come and Try afternoon on Sunday 15 June 2014 commencing at 2 o’clock (please be there between 1 and 2 o’clock). This is a good introduction into the sport of both long range target rifle shooting and smallbore shooting. The format for the New Shooter afternoon is a welcome and safety briefing first as well as a sign-in. The TMRC range will be closed for shooting on 13 APR 2014 due to effect of rain from Cyclone ITA. As a result the range is not suitable for vehicles. Apologies for all those who were planning on attending the shoot - on a positive the range should be nice and green for the Queens!

The Mareeba Prize Shoot was held on the 23 Feb 14. Thank-you to all those TMRC attended. Results Ken Christian won Target Rifle 2nd Division with 145.11, top scored on the first 500y with 49.5 and won the most “V” bulls trophy. Darren Canute won the 2nd badge in F-Class Standard B with 167.8 Bill Glavin came 4th in F-Class Standard B with a score of 165.8 Una Glavin won the second 500y in F-Class Standard B with 59.5 and won the trophy of the most “super V’s” Gail Christie won the first 500y with 58.4.
