Jock Hucker Takes Careful Aim

Sunday 18th October presented a great challenge to all shooters at the Townsville Marksmen Rifle Club with light wind and mirage which did not maintain consistency from one shot to the next. Several competitor were heard to say ‘should have gone fishing!’. For logistical reasons it was decided to shoot 800m for a second week-end in a row. Records were safe however our noted F Class competitor John Lorimer, fresh from his win on the Atherton Tableland last weekend was the top shot with 107/120 – well done John. Results in F Class Standard were: John Lorimer 107, Julianne Mertz 107, Gail Christie 106, Bill...

Results for Sunday 7 Mar 10

At last after several Sundays of not being able to shoot because of the rain, 21 club members and visitors contested the first leg of the 2010 Club Championship. Christmas Activity at the Range

During the Christmas Range Closure period a bit of work has been done around the range. Pictured is John J on his new Christmas Red Monaro bringing wood back to the Club Hut to be turned into more target frames by Owie! Other work includes erecting new target numbers, shelves in the butts and a clean up of the butts. There is still plenty more to do! The heavy rainfall has done some minor damage to the stop butts and mantlet, but nothing compared to this time last year. The water courses along the range have been damaged by the...
